Review: the iPad 2

Apple’s iPad 2 is the follow up to the iPad, and it comes with a number of refinements. There are a few notable differences in the new model of Apple’s popular tablet. There is a new processor, more memory, two cameras and a host of cosmetic changes. This tablet is the most stylish on the market.

Design
The iPad 2 is one of the thinnest tablets on the market. It is only 0.34 inches thick, and weighs a mere 1.33 pounds. There are two color choices available, and the product features a durable aluminum alloy back that adds to the aesthetic appearances.

Features
The processor for this tablet is a 1 GHz A5 that offers 512 MB of RAM. Apple has also upgraded the operating system, and users will notice the speed this tablet provides when they are surfing the net or playing their favorite games. It has been clocked on the Sunspider system at 2173.1ms. This is fairly quick considering its size and features, though it may not be as fast as a laptop. One of the only negative aspects of the browser is that it does not allow Flash. They can be jail broken to get this feature, but this is not available otherwise.

Camera-s-
There are two cameras that are found on the tablet, but they are notably lacking in quality and resolution. This is one of the major upgrades from the previous version, and they leave something to be desired. The still shots they provide are inferior. However, the cameras do offer owners a chance to take advantage of FaceTime calls.

Battery
10 hours of solid battery life are included on a single charge, and this makes this tablet one of the most efficient on the market. One of the only negative things about the battery system is that there is no way to replace it. However, most users have no problem with their batteries. It is quite surprising to be able to use an electronic device all day and not have to stop to plug in.

Summarizing
The Apple iPad 2 is an excellent tablet that can compete with some of the best laptops. It has been upgraded from the previous version and offers a quick browser, long battery life and two cameras.

Extra
There are already rumours about the upcomimg iPad 3. The industry expects this product to be launched early 2012.
